About Us
Treid Pacific is a 100% locally owned provider of school materials and services throughout Papua New Guinea.
It is a private company that compliments and backs up the National Department of Education and the provincial
governments which provide most of the funding for schools. Treidprint, a
subsidiary, specializes in curriculum development, publishing and printing. The other subsidiary,
Pantreid Pacific specializes in the construction of school buildings.

Treid Pacific (PNG) Pty Ltd was established in 1986 initially as a distributor of basic school materials.
Once the new management took over in 1990, the role of the company changed to assisting in the development of
education in Papua New Guinea. The main areas of involvement are:
Delivery of Education Materials
Treid has developed a system of ensuring all basic materials required for learning and teaching reaches the
various schools and more importantly reaches every student in each classroom. This method of delivering WHAT IS PPD
is known as Privatised Public Distribution. It has taken 15 years to trial and establish and is convincing proof
of Treid’s contribution to an accountable and transparent utilization of public funds.
Textbook Printing and Curriculum Development
Treid saw the need of locally developing the curriculum i.e. publishing, printing and providing much needed
textbooks and resource books at an affordable price. The print shop also does commercial printing and has been
gradually upgraded over 10 years with state of the art machinery, equipment and software. Treid Pacific
jointly with the NCD Curriculum Committee Developed the maths activity books using NCD teachers.
School Building Construction and Development in Rural PNG
With the deterioration of the building infrastructure in most schools Treid in 1998 ventured into the design,
supply and construction of pre-fabricated steel school buildings in rural PNG. The buildings are long lasting,
low maintenance, termite proof, fire resistance, providing an environment convenient for learning.
Treid Pacific has localised the fabrication of school buildings to an industry within the country. It also
trains and provides employment for vocational/technical school graduates. The buildings include classrooms,
science labs, libraries, IT labs, dormitories, teachers housing.
